Kenneth Wood

Kenneth Wayne Wood, 76, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, December 13, 2018, at his home. Born August 13, 1942, in Metter, GA, he was the son of Martha Brown Wood Faircloth of Spartanburg, SC and the late William "Bill" Wood. A graduate of Spartanburg High School, Mr. Wood proudly served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Three Pines County Club in Woodruff, SC where he enjoyed playing in the Club Dogfights as well as serving as a mentor to youth golfers. He retired from Geer Drug Company after 53 years of service. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 50 years, Shelby Lee Wood; sister, Donna Aldridge (Ronnie) of Forest City, NC; brother, Billy Gene Wood; and brother-in-law, Carl Lee of Spartanburg, SC. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 18, 2018, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by The Rev. Dr. Steven Owensby and The Rev. Jack Dodd. Visitation will follow at the graveside. Memorials may be made to Morningside Baptist Church, 897 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302; or Mobile Meals Service, PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
