Keith Burgess

Keith Russell Burgess, 58, of Corpus Christi, TX, passed away January 18, 2011 at Bay Area Hospital in Corpus Christi, TX. Born in Spartanburg County on January 30, 1952, he was the son of Maurice and Edna Knox Burgess of Spartanburg. Keith was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and earned a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Texas A&M University and was a registered nurse at Kindred Hospital in Corpus Christi, TX. He served as a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy for 10 years. In addition to his parents, survivors include a son, Keith R. Burgess, Jr. (Heather) of Corpus Christ, TX; three daughters, Kelly Burgess Needham (Kevin) of Houston, TX, Kristina Burgess Johns (Michael) of San Diego, CA, and Holly Burgess of Largo, FL; four brothers, Larry Burgess of Ft. Myers, FL, Kevin Burgess (Wanda) of Columbus, NC, Neal Burgess (Tami) of Jonesville, SC, and Paul Burgess (Misti) of Duncan, SC; and seven grandchildren. A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Cudd Memorial Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Danny Garrett and the Rev. Ronnie Norris. The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM in the church sanctuary.
