Kathryn "Michelle" Yopp, age 58, devoted wife of J.C. Yopp, loving mother, and cherished daughter and sister, passed peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice, with her family by her side. Michelle was born on September 14, 1966, in Spartanburg, SC and was the daughter of James Earl Hughes and Linda Barnette. Michelle’s journey through life was characterized by her kind, patient, and loving spirit, qualities that endeared her to all who knew her.

After graduating high school, Michelle pursued her education, earning an associate degree that paved the way for her impactful career as a medical assistant in a local family practice in Spartanburg. Her work was not just a job; it was a reflection of her caregiving nature, where she touched the lives of countless patients with her attentive and warm demeanor.

Michelle had a profound love for the beach, where the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun brought her peace and joy. Memories of her laughter echoing against the backdrop of sandy shores will live on in the hearts of her loved ones. She embraced life fully, finding happiness in the little moments and sharing that joy with those close to her.

She leaves behind her husband, J.C. Yopp. Michelle is also survived by her children: son, Wesley Corbin (Nicole); daughters. Caroline Corbin (Glenn) and Callie Corbin (Joseph), and her treasured grandchildren, Hunter and Hayden, who were her pride and joy.

Michelle is remembered fondly as a beloved daughter to her father, James Earl Hughes her mother, Linda Barnette Major and stepfather, Stephen Major, and. She shared a special bond with her twin siblings, Shawn Zill (Stephen) and Shannon Hughes (Heather), who will forever cherish the memories of growing up alongside her.

Her two special fur babies, Tucker, her loyal boxer, and Stormie, her playful cat, were a constant source of comfort and happiness, mirroring the affection Michelle gave to everyone around her.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, located at 2075 E Main St, Spartanburg, SC. Following this, her Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm in the chapel, honoring Michelle beautiful life. She will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg, providing a peaceful final resting place for a soul so full of love.

Kathryn Michelle Yopp's legacy will continue through the lives she has touched and the hearts she has warmed. She will be deeply missed but eternally remembered for her unwavering kindness, selflessness, and the love she shared wherever she went.
