Kathryn Snipes

Kathryn Carpenter Snipes, 80, of Spartanburg, SC passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at National Health Care, West Columbia, SC. Born December 26, 1933 in Opelousas, LA, she was the daughter of the late James Harold and Nell Lewis Carpenter and widow of the late Charles T. Snipes. Mrs. Snipes retired from Spartanburg School District 7 at Madden Elementary School and was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. She is survived by son, Tom Snipes (Lisa) of Wichita, KS; daughters, Anne Page (Rad) of Irmo, SC and Jo Murphy (Rodney) of Wellford, SC; brother, Dr. Jim Carpenter (Joyce) of Jacksonville, FL; seven grandchildren, Josh Murphy, Luke Murphy, Anna Kate Murphy, Will Snipes, Thomas Snipes, Bryce Page, and Blake Page. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, April 14, 2014 in Garden of Memories Cemetery, 151 Garden of Memories Road, Belton, SC 29627, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Thornwell Home for Children, P.O. Box 60, Clinton, SC 29325 or charity of one's choice.
