Kathryn Anderson

November 9, 1928 — July 24, 2013

Kathryn Green Anderson, 84, of Moore, SC, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at her home. Born November 9, 1928, in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Louis James and Myrtle Hodge Green, and wife of the late Michael Geer Anderson. A graduate of Spartanburg High School and Cecil's Business College, Mrs. Anderson was also a member of Center Point Presbyterian Church where she was a choir member for many years. She and her husband, Mike, operated Greyrock Dairy Farms for many years. She had a keen eye (from the house) where she could watch all aspects of the farm. A loving, strong-willed mother, devoted wife, and grandmother who spoiled her grandchildren, she loved to cook, and enjoyed her flowers. Survivors include her sons, Mark A. Anderson (D. J.) of Moore, SC, John L. "Les" Anderson of Woodruff, SC, and James M. Anderson (Jennifer) of Moore, SC; seven grandchildren, Matthew and Laura Anderson, Kyle Anderson, Ashley Anderson Smith, Jessica, Jenna, and Julie Anderson; two great-grandchildren; cousin, Barbara Goings of Spartanburg, SC; and special friend, Lorna Griffin of Boiling Springs, SC. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, July 26, 2013, at Nazareth Presbyterian Church, 680 Nazareth Church Road, Moore, SC 29369, by the Rev. David Sutton and the Rev. Ray Hellings. Burial will be in Nazareth Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church Family Life Center following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Home Hospice, 120 Heywood Avenue Suite 300, Spartanburg, SC 29303; or Center Point Presbyterian Church, 1119 Center Point Drive, Moore, SC 29369.
