Kathleen Sherbert

Kathleen Varner Sherbert, 84, of 200 Heywood Avenue, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at her home. Born March 16, 1926 in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Josie Foster Varner and the wife of the late Guy B. Sherbert. She retired from Hoechst Celanese and was a member of Canaan Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra S. Waters of the home; a son, William "Billy" Sherbert of Spartanburg; four grandchildren, Dawn Fowler, Derek Waters, Bryan Sherbert, and Chad Sherbert; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grand children; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Varner of Boiling Springs. She was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and C. B. Varner. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Canaan Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Joel Gardner. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
