Kathleen Leverette

Kathleen Traylor Leverette, 85, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at Skylyn Place Health Center. Born February 24, 1926, in Hickory Grove, York County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Richard Hobson and Irene Montgomery Traylor. Mrs. Leverette was a member of Drayton Baptist Church. She was a former choir member and very active in many church affairs, an avid reader who was devoted to her family and her Lord, and retired from Butte Knit after eight years of service. Survivors include her husband, Marcus Livingston Leverette, Jr. of the home; a daughter, Carol Leverette Pridmore and husband David, also of the home; sons, Richard L. Leverette and wife Georgia of Ballentine, and Rev. Bobby D. Leverette and wife Mary "Bunny" of Moore; five grandchildren, Dr. Shannon Williamson and husband Rev. Jarrod of Simpsonville, Dr. Chad Leverette and wife Cara of Aiken, Melanie Endecott and husband Rev. Courtney of Frankfurt, Germany, Kimberly Cruz and husband Damion of Lakeland, FL, and Brittany Leverette of Moore; brothers, Robert M. "Bob" Traylor of York, and James E. "Jimmy" Traylor and wife Brenda of Sharon; sisters, Sara Whitney of Lincoln, NE, and Rosalie Burkette of Bessemer City, NC; and brother-in-law, Dan Moss of Sharon. She was predeceased by a grandson, Marcus "Marc" David Pridmore; a sister, Thelma Moss; and a brother, Joseph T. "Pete" Traylor. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, July 8, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Barry Snead and the Rev. Bobby D. Leverette. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Drayton Baptist Church, PO Box 357, Drayton, SC 29333.
