Kathleen Bailey

Mary Kathleen Jones Bailey, 86, of 435 Larry Drive, died Monday, September 7, 2009, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born December 10, 1922, in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Leland L. and Nancy Chapman Jones and the wife of the late Woodrow Bailey. She was retired from Nancy Fashions and the Spartanburg Mental Health Center. She was a member of Whitney Free Will Baptist Church, Long Oak Chapter #208 of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 9539, the Spartanburg Senior Citizens Center, the Seniority Club at Mary Black Memorial Hospital, and a volunteer at Spartanburg Technical College. Survivors include three sons, Ronald Bailey and his wife Sharon of Chesnee, Gerald Bailey and his wife Nellie, and William Bailey and his wife Anne, all of Spartanburg; two granddaughters, Tammy Kimball, and Cheryl Classen and her husband Tim; three grandsons, Philip Bailey and his wife Tonya, Mark Bailey, and Tracey Bailey and his wife Judy; six great-grandchildren, Beth and Allie Kimball, Jonathan Bailey, Zoey, Zella, and Zachary Classen; and a nephew, Sam Gosnell and his wife Dorothy of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by a daughter, Cornelia Haralson; and three sisters, Vessor Jones, Vera Painter, and Mabel Gosnell, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 10, 2009, at Sunset Memorial Park conducted by the Rev. Charles Hall.
