Katherine Zoole

Katherine Miller Zoole, 97, of 110 Summit Hills Drive, Spartanburg, SC died Saturday, October 9, 2010. Born April 22, 1913 in Herminie, PA, she was the daughter of the late Franklin Lewis and Katherine Funk Miller and wife of the late Jonathan Zoole, M.D. She attended Sewickley Township High School, Herminie, PA and was a 1934 graduate of McKeesport Nursing School. She was a registered nurse serving in the U. S. Public Health Service Hospital in Staten Island, NY. She lived in Juneau, AK; San Francisco, CA; New London, CT; and Washington, DC. She and her husband moved back to Staten Island in 1946 where her husband opened offices in Tottenville and Annadale. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church; the Daughters of the American Revolution; Price's Bay Women's Club; and the Ladies Auxiliary to Richmond Memorial Hospital. She moved to Spartanburg, SC in 1999. Survivors include a son, Jon L. Zoole and wife Suzanne of Spartanburg, SC; a daughter Nancy Kenney and husband Raymond T. of Campobello, SC; a granddaughter, Laura Zoole Owen of Columbia, SC; a grandson, Peter Grant Zoole of Hilton Head Island, SC; and two great grandchildren, Louise Parnell Owen and Katherine Miller Owen. She was predeceased by a brother, Lewis Franklin Miller. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Summit Hills Retirement Community, Spartanburg, SC, conducted by the Rev. Roy Cole. Burial will be in Ocean View Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Advent, 141 Advent Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The J. F.
