Katherine Russell

Katherine Coate Russell, 98, formerly of Morganton, NC died Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Eden Terrace Assisted Living. Born in Oak Park, IL, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Miles and Caroline Anna Maas Coate and widow of Claude P. Russell of Morganton, NC. She attended Oak Park High School, National Park Jr. College, and the University of Wisconsin and was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. She was also member of the Junior League of Chicago, IL and Morganton, NC, First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg, New Comer's Club, and The Shepherd's Center. Surviving are three children, David P. (Patty) Russell of Charlotte, NC, Susan (John) Denniston of Washington, DC and Sandra R. (John) Hartnett of Moore,; three granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Nazareth Presbyterian Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. David H. Sutton. Visitation will be at the graveside.
