Katherine Johnson, of Spartanburg, SC, former wife of the late George G. Johnson, passed into eternal rest to her Savior, Lord Jesus on Friday, December 13, 2013. Katherine was born in Spartanburg County on June 17, 1932. She was the oldest daughter of the late Frank Davis and Sally Holloway Moore. She is survived by a sister, Elizabeth M. Lazenby (Dave), her only daughter, Janice Higginbotham (Charles), grandson, Brad Hall, great-grandson, Jackson Hall, great-granddaughter, Madeline Ruth Hall, niece, Lynn G. Secrest (Ned), great niece, Ashley S. Snelgrove (Sam) and great-nephew, Christopher Secrest. She was predeceased by a sister, Frances Moore Gossett (Jimmy). Katherine was a lifelong member of Southside Baptist Church and was a member of Joy Sunday School Class, in Spartanburg, SC. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. Katherine, a devoted Christian, helped in the Southside children's nursery for many years. She retired from J. M. Smith Corporation in customer service after 54 years of service in 2009. Katherine dearly loved her family and church friends. She would often visit sick friends, read her Bible daily and was a loving inspiration of faith to many others. She loved traveling, flowers, gardening, church, and Clemson football. Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 10:45 AM on Monday, December 16, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307, with services following at 11:00 AM in the chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Benjamin Littlejohn and the Rev. Dr. Schuyler Peterson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mobile Meals, P. O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304, or the Hope Center for Children, P. O.
