Katherine Hofelich

Katherine Smith Hofelich, 87, of Spartanburg, died Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Landrum. Born April 13, 1925, in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late Colonel Philip Earl Smith and Marjorie Elizabeth Grathwol Smith and wife of the late John Conrad Hofelich, Jr. She was a member of Catholic Church of Jesus Our Risen Savior. Surviving are her children, Marjorie Hofelich-Wells and her husband Allan, Robert J. Hofelich and his wife Lynn, John C. Hofelich, III and his wife Kimberly Seymour, and Barbara A. Blanton and her husband Bobby; thirteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Dr. Thomas C. Hofelich. Visitation will be 6:00-6:45 PM Friday, February 15, 2013, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 PM, at the Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 12:00 noon Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the Catholic Church of Jesus Our Risen Savior, 2575 Reidville Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
