Kate Mitchell

Kate Melton Mitchell, 86, of Stanley, NC, died on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Stanley Total Living Center. Born May 9, 1926, in Gaston County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Zack and Mae Edwards Melton and widow of Furman Charles "Jack" Mitchell. Survivors include nephews and nieces, Doug Smith (Cindy) of Tucker, GA, Tim Smith (Nancy) of Gastonia, NC, Vickie Conner of Stanley, NC, Pam Croen (Fred) of Macungie, PA, Guy Smith (Molly) of Warner Robbins, GA, and Beth Lee (Alan) of Arvada, CO. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by sisters, Ruby Smith and Sarah Butler; and brothers, George, Thomas, and Jack Melton. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 6, 2013, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, by the Rev. Andy Case.
