June West Lancaster Cline, 78, a native of Pauline, SC, died Monday, June 13, 2011, at Carolina's Specialty Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Born June 1, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Virgil D. and Corinne Brown West. She was predeceased by her first husband, Roy M. Lancaster, and is survived by her husband, D. Vernon Cline. June graduated from Pauline High School, The Spartanburg General Hospital School of Nursing, and the Family Nurse Practitioner Program. Her early career began with the Children's' Clinic in Spartanburg, SC; then expanded to Public Health in South Carolina and North Carolina. She retired from the Nalle Clinic in Charlotte, NC. She was an active member of Sharon United Methodist Church, Charlotte, NC, including the Covenant Council, the Chancel Choir, McWhorter Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, and other organizations of the church. In addition to her husband, survivors include her children, Rodney Lancaster (Connie) of Surfside Beach, SC, Jane Hoffman (Vann) of Charlotte, NC, and David Lancaster (Angela) of Spartanburg, SC; stepchildren, Dexter V. Cline, Jr. (Debbie) of Fort Mill, SC, Jan Evans (Rick) of Fayetteville, NC, Diane Aden (Steve) of Simpsonville, SC, and Richard Cline (Maria) of Charlotte, NC; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Madeline Lambright of Gaffney, SC, Donna West of Lake Bowen, SC, and Margaret Treadway of Griffin, GA; and a brother, Virgil D. West of Pauline, SC. A funeral celebrating Mrs. Cline's life will be conducted at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Sharon United Methodist Church, 4411 Sharon Road, Charlotte, NC, with a reception following the service. A Celebration of Life service will also be conducted at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 16, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC. The Rev. Lory Beth Huffman and the Rev. Nancy Campbell will conduct the services. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are grandsons: Kyle Lancaster, Marshall Lancaster, Michael Aden, Ricky Evans, Chase Cline, Brett Cline, and Alec Cline. Honorary escorts at Sharon United Methodist Church are McWhorter Sunday School Class, Mary & Martha Circle, and Sharon United Methodist Women. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sharon United Methodist Church, 4411 Sharon Road, Charlotte, NC 28211. The family would like to thank the CMC and Carolina's Specialty Hospital staff and caregivers for their excellent care and support.
