Julie Waldrop "Mammy" Hall, 86, formerly of Magness Drive, died Sunday, September 27, 2009, at RoseCrest Retirement Community. Born June 22, 1923, in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Rufus Thomas and Affie McIntyre Waldrop. She formerly operated the Dairy Dream Ice Cream Shop on Hearon Circle and was a member of Gateway Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Adolphus D. "A. D." Hall; three children, Bobby Hall and wife Peggy of Fairforest, Marilyn Gosnell and husband Bobby of Boiling Springs, and Wesley Hall of the home; five granddaughters, Kimberly (Russ) Smith, Amelia (Steve) Wilson, Angela (Rodney) Smith, Lacy (Kirk) Hedden, and Julie (Bruce) Cook; great-grandchildren, Sarah Walker, Lindsay Wilson, Alaina Smith, Jordan Wilson, Branson Cook, John Edward Cook, Clara Wilson, Daniel Hedden, Jackson Smith, Bryson Smith, Rachel Hedden, and Lily Cook; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by a great-grandson, Noah Wilson. Cryptside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum conducted by the Rev. Ray Stuart. The family will receive friends following the service at the cryptside.
