Julene Braziel

March 1, 1927 — November 22, 2010

Julene C. Braziel, 83, of 301 Bentley Court, Spartanburg, SC, entered Heaven's Gates at her home after an extended illness on Monday, November 22, 2010, surrounded by her family and friends. She was the wife of Clyde A. Braziel for over 65 years, who called her his baby doll. Born March 1, 1927 in Valley Falls, she was the daughter of the late William "Bill" A. and Kate Parris Chapman of Boiling Springs, SC. She worked at Sears and retired as a tax preparer for the late Perry Bishop, which she enjoyed to the fullest. She was a member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church and a former member of Gravely Memorial United Methodist Church where she enjoyed working with the youth and helping with Bible School. She enjoyed cooking with her husband, sewing, knitting, and crocheting; but most of all, she enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who called her Nona. She was always willing to help her family and friends at a moments notice. She will be greatly missed by her husband, a daughter, Rita Hutchins Stacey; a son, Garry (Shelia) Braziel; grandchildren, Kenny (Terri) Hutchins, Kim (Jimmy D) Lanier, Josh (Denise) Braziel, and Shelley Braziel; great-grandchildren, Brittany and Justin Hutchins, Shane and Kayla Lanier, Haley and Abbey Braziel; and her sisters, Julia Chapman, Gayle (John) Lee, and Peggy Haney. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 24, 2010, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 26, 2010, in Boiling Springs Memorial Garden, conducted by the Rev. Bobby Linsay. Pallbearers will be: Kenny Hutchins, Josh Braziel, Jimmy Lanier, Shane Lanier, Wayne Chapman, Junior Brady. The family respectfully request that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boiling Springs First Baptist Church, 3600 Boiling Springs Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316 or to Gravely Memorial United Methodist Church, 7400 Lone Oak Blvd., Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family would like to thank the hospice at home aides, nurses and social workers for their excellent care; to family and friends for their kind deeds; and for all the prayers and phone calls. May God richly bless each of you. Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Julene C. Braziel please visit our Sympathy Store.
