Judy West

Judy Martin West, 86, of 211 River Falls Drive, died Friday, December 24, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born July 6, 1924, in Union, SC, she was a daughter of the late Fred James and Etta Harrison Martin, and the widow of Donald M. West, who died on June 6, 2005. She attended Spartanburg General Hospital School of Nursing, graduating as a member of Beta Sigma Phi Society. She was a registered nurse having worked seven years for Spartanburg General Hospital and 35 years for Spartanburg Surgical Associates, retiring on September 30, 1987. She was a member of Green Street Baptist Church and was a founding member of the Spartanburg Ski Club. Survivors include a daughter, Susan West Edge and husband Steve of Duncan; a grandson, Brad Sill; a granddaughter, Brook Sill; two brothers, Fred James Martin, Jr. of Boiling Springs and Bobby Gene Martin of Spartanburg; and two sisters, Jeri Hanson and Helen Young, both of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by a brother, Haskell Martin and a sister, Teresa Seay. Visitation will be 12:00-12:45 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Thomas Moore. Burial will be in West Oakwood Cemetery.
