Judy Jobe McKinney

Judy Ann McKinney, 79, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Born November 22, 1945, in Banner Elk, NC, she was the daughter of the late David Kenneth Jobe, Jr. and Willie Rae Buchanan.

Judy was a long-time member of Second Presbyterian Church where she was deeply involved with such ministries as Birthday Card Ministry, visiting shut in’s and those that were sick. She also sang in the choir for many years with her husband, Gordan. Judy met her husband while attending East Tennessee State University. Judy accepted his proposal, they became engaged and married on June 8, 1968. Having acquired her master’s degree in education, she taught in District 6 at then, Lincoln High School for two years and Roebuck Elementary School as a 2nd Grade teacher for 27 years. One of her passions was reading and spending time with her family. She was so well loved by everyone who knew her.

Surviving is her husband of 57 years, Gordon W. McKinney; brother, David Jobe of Johnson City, TN; nephews, Rev. Brian Jobe (Marie) of AZ and Barry Jobe of TN; and her aunt, Ailene English of NC. Judy is predeceased by her beloved son, William Brent McKinney and her parents.

Graveside services will be held privately.
