Judith Merritt

Judith “Cookie” Marie Hastings Merritt, 79, of Clifton, SC, died June 8, 2022, at home. Born July 12, 1942, to the late Curtis and Gladys Reynolds Hastings, she was married to the late Robert A. Merritt.

Cookie was a loving, strong woman who fought until the end. She loved her family: her soulmate Robert, her kids, and her grandkids. She was loved by many and always wanted to feed everyone. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dustin for his care for Cookie and for being her “rock”.

Survivors include her children, Tammy Garrett (William) and Michael Giles (Linda); grandchildren, Nina Martin (Dustin), Amanda Uhrinek, Josh Garrett (Tiffany), and Cameron Giles (Amber); and great-grandchildren, Jordan Amburn, Coby Everhart, Madison Uhrinek, Chance Uhrinek, Ariana Garrett, and Lexi Giles.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 11, 2022, in Sunset Memorial Gardens, 1955 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by Warren Reynolds.
