Judith “Judy” McDowell McKelvey, 74, of Inman, SC, died Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at her home. Born January 18, 1947 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Mildred Cannon McDowell and William Thomas McDowell Jr, and widow of Wayne Mark McKelvey.
Mrs. McKelvey was a retired accountant with Harris, Swaim & Brown CPA’s. She enjoyed square dancing, traveling, singing, and playing the organ. Mrs. McKelvey was the sweetest Christian woman who loved her family. She was a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg.
Survivors include siblings, Tommy McDowell III (Jean), of Boiling Springs, Linda Pike of Inman, SC, Bruce McDowell (Cheryl) and Karen McDowell of Boiling Springs, SC; nieces and nephews, Robbie Bowen (Lisa), Amanda Bowen Huss (Bryan), Summer McDowell Abbott (Bo), Heather McDowell Wagner (Craig), Seth McDowell (Megan), Dylan McDowell (Diana) and Mary Grace McDowell Grubbs (Robby); step-children, Kristy Lowe, Jeri Thomas and Teri Thomas; step-grandchildren, Mark Dewees, Megan, Damian and Zackary Thomas and step-great-grandchild, Haizley Thomas. She was predeceased by her son, Joseph “Joey” Arthur Hill and niece, Melissa McDowell.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Floyd’s Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 North, Boiling Springs, SC 29316, conducted by The Rev. Dr. Michael Hamlet. Burial will be in Lake Bowen Baptist Church Cemetery, 511 Edwards Road, Inman, SC 29349.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
