Juanita Wood

Juanita Wood, 86, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at her home. Born July 24, 1927, in Lockhart, SC, she was the daughter of the late Carl Sylvester and Beulah Westmoreland Wood. Juanita retired from Aug W. Smith Co. She was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church where she served in the Children's Department and was a member of the Happy Hearts Senior Group. Survivors include one sister, Mary Anne Johnson, and one brother, Billy W. Wood and his wife Betty T. Wood, all of Spartanburg. She was a devoted aunt to numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Florence Painter; and two brothers, Dr. Harold W. Wood and Charles Hansel Wood. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Schuyler Peterson and the Rev. Dr. Bruce Russell. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 316 South Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306.
