Joyce Wofford

Joyce Whisenant Wofford, of 2780 East Main Street, formerly of Woodley Road, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Eden Terrace. Born November 22, 1938, in Startex, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Manley and Lillie Sexton Whisenant and the wife of the late Charlie Wofford. A graduate of Byrnes High School and Robinson Business College, she retired from the Pepsi Cola Company after 21 years of service. She was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Ford and her husband Ricky of Pauline, Charlene Brooks and her husband Vince of Woodruff, and Myra Million of Roebuck; a sister, Roberta Pearson of Startex; and three grandchildren, Mandy Ford, Richie Ford, and Jameson Million. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Josh Jennings. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 901 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302; or to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
