Joyce Weathers

Joyce Ballenger Weathers, 87, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, September 9, 2013, at Magnolia Manor-Spartanburg. Born April 28, 1926, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Onie Webber Ballenger. She was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church and a foster parent for many years. Surviving are her daughter, Sandra Pye (Monroe); grandchildren, Rhonda Sexton and Randy Pye; great-grandson, Christopher Sexton; Kathy Haddon, all of Spartanburg, SC; and niece, Barbara Dixon of Florida. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a brother, Roy Ballenger; and sister, Evelyn Eubanks. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 PM Wednesday, September 11, 2013, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. David Swofford.
