Joyce Sharrett

Joyce Gammon Sharrett, 73, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Windsor House-Spartanburg. Born September 18, 1940, in Danville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Elmer John and Evelyn Morris Gammon and widow of Richard Lee Sharrett. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Mrs. Sharrett was entirely devoted to her family. She was an avid gardener, a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, and a receptionist with Tindall Concrete for 20 years. Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth "Lisa" Martin (Henry) of Campobello, SC; son, Scott Lee Sharrett (Dawn) of Boiling Springs, SC; three grandsons, Trevor, Trent, and Timothy Sharrett of Boiling Springs, SC; and four sisters, Diana Haggard (Clarence), Nancy Gibson (Gary), Martha McQueary (Jerry), and Phyllis Williams (Joe), all of Kentucky. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Jerry A. Gammon and Elmer "Buddy" Gammon. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, May 2, 2014, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Keith Davis. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
