Joyce Reed

Joyce Lee Nix Reed, 80, died Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Woodruff Manor. Born March 20, 1932, in Seneca, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Russ and Eula Mae Sanders Nix and wife of 49 years to the late Thomas Harold Reed. She was retired after 17 years as a secretary at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a daughter, Melody Reed Hyatt of Spartanburg; sons, Thomas "Chip" Reed of Woodruff, SC and Timothy C. Reed of Boiling Springs, SC; granddaughters, Katie Hyatt, Joy Lovelace, and Sarah Grace Reed; grandsons, Charlie Hyatt and Steven Hyatt. She was predeceased by a brother, Charles F. Nix. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Richard M. Thomas. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to The Soup Kitchen, 136 South Forest Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. The family is at their respective homes.
