Joyce Miller

Joyce Newman Miller, 75, of Moore, SC, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at her home. Born July 10, 1938, in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Gladys Blackwell Newman, and widow of Harry Malcolm Miller. Mrs. Miller was a member of Graceway Church, a certified master gardener, and formerly employed by Springs Industries. Surviving are her children, Renee Hoard (Gerald) of Moore, SC, Craig Douglas (Jenny) of Hilton Head, SC, and Rick Douglas (Julia) of Lyman, SC; grandchildren, Valerie Feiling of Lyman, SC, Anna Douglas of Rock Hill, SC, Katelyn Hoard of Moore, SC, Noah Douglas of Pittsburgh, PA, and Taylor Hoard of Mt. Pleasant, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Guynelle Shields; and brothers, Kenneth Newman and Fred Newman. Visitation will be 3:00-3:45 PM Friday, November 22, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jan King and the Rev. David Powell. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to Hope Center for Children, PO Box 1731, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
