Joyce Large

Joyce Linda Splawn Large, 68, of Arcadia, died Friday, April 13, 2012, at her home. Born July 23, 1943, in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Jason James and Grace White Splawn. She was a homemaker, wife, and mother who will be missed by all who loved her. Surviving are her husband William Ralph Large; children, Pam Smith and husband Warren of Pauline, David Lynn Large and wife Sharon of Spartanburg, Cynthia Diane Huggins and husband Billy of Spartanburg, and Lena Shipman and husband Doug of Cowpens; grandchildren, Leah Zayas, Jason Large, Jessica Coker, Jada Gosnell, Krista Kilgore, Matthew Large, Daniel and Michael Huggins; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Berry; and a son, Jackie Eugene Large. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, by the Rev. Randy Lewis. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to March of Dimes, One Greystone Building, 240 Stoneridge Drive, Suite 206, Columbia, SC 29210; or Animal Allies, 1097 Asheville Highway, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
