Joseph Poteat

Joseph "Buddy" Donald Poteat, 85, of Spartanburg, SC died Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Pacifica Senior Living Skylyn. Born July 18, 1932 in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Leonard "Curly" and Gladys Estes Poteat. Buddy was the owner/operator of Leonard Poteat Plumbing as well as a master plumber. He was a member of Big Oak Men's Club and Spartanburg Gun Club. Survivors include a niece, Karen Jones Carron (Steve) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and a great nephew, Christopher Carron of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Along with his parents, he was also predeceased by a sister, Barbara Poteat Jones and a brother, Robert Leonard Poteat. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 PM Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 1, 2017 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Daniel Blackwell.
