Joseph Parson "Joe" Parham, 92, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, December 22, 2014, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born January 9, 1922, in Walnut Grove, Spartanburg County, SC, he was the son of the late Joe Richard Parham and Ettie Aiken Parham. A U. S. Army veteran, Mr. Parham was a member of Southside Baptist Church, Adult 3 Sunday School Class, St. John Masonic Lodge, and Mid-City Hejaz Shriners in Lyman. He was retired from Southern Electric Company. Surviving is his beloved wife of 68 years, Marie Hammett Parham; nieces and nephews, Dianne P. Snelgrove (David), Ralph Edward "Eddie" Parham (Brenda), Mary Ann Nunnery, June E. Hull (David), and many other nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Southside Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Schuyler Peterson. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 316 South Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. Honorary escort will be members of his Sunday School Class.
