Joseph Smith

Joseph (Joe) Jackson Smith, 74, of Spartanburg SC died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born October 20, 1938 in Spartanburg SC, he was the son of the late David Smith and Grace Hanley. Mr. Smith was a graduate of Spartanburg High School class of 1956 and was in the SC National Guard. He was retired from Beverage Air Company. Joe was a member of Northbrook Baptist Church, a Sunday school teacher, and a Member of Cherokee Springs Masonic Lodge #135. He is predeceased by his first wife, Patricia Webb Smith and survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Smith Smith. Three sons, Todd Smith (Annette) of Boiling Springs SC, Mark Smith (Tammy) of Woodruff SC and Tim Smith (Jamie) of Chesnee SC; a daughter, Tricia Raines (Ted) from Lyman SC; three Step-sons, Wayne Harold, and Carroll Johnson and brother, Carl Smith (Deb) of Columbia SC. Joe was blessed with seventeen grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00pm -8:00pm Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Bennie Green.
