Joseph Horton

Mr. Joseph Donald Horton, 83, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Glenbridge Health & Rehabilitation, Boone, NC. Born October 22, 1933, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Rufus Belton Horton and Ada Wilkerson Horton. A U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Horton was a lifetime member of the South Carolina Pharmacy Association. He was also a member of Morningside Baptist Church and the Royal Sunday School Class. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Shirley Bellew Horton; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Burwell and Tim Burwell of Boone, NC; two granddaughters, Emily Burwell and Brittany Burwell of Boone, NC; and one sister, Jeanette H. Henderson of Raleigh, NC. A cryptside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, June 30, 2017, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Steven Owensby and the Rev. Jack Dodds of Morningside Baptist Church. Visitation will follow at the cryptside.
