Joseph Hamelin

Joseph Leo Roger Hamelin, 81, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, December 18, 2015 at his home. Born September 16, 1934 in Waterbury, CT, he was the son of the late Hormisdas and Alia Massicotte Hamelin. He was first married to the late Teresa Chrostowski Hamelin. Mr. Hamelin was a US Navy veteran serving in the Korean Conflict and served in the Army National Guard. He was a Major in the S.C. Militia. He was retired as a Quality Control Engineer. Survivors include his wife, Ellen Sewell Hamelin; sons, Greg Hamelin of Pacolet, SC; Jeff Hamelin (Dawn) of Spartanburg, SC; T.J. Hamelin (Wendy) of Naples, FL; Matt Hamelin of Spartanburg, SC; Roger Hamelin (Wendy) of Prospect, CT; daughter, Michelle Poirier of Spartanburg, SC; nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Visitation will be 12:30 - 1:30 PM Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services with Military Rites will be at 2:00 PM at the Chapel, conducted by Chaplain R.C. Campbell and Pastor Manning Strickland.
