Joseph Joshua Fowler, 81, of Spartanburg, was healed and went home to be with Jesus to celebrate his birthday, Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born April 20, 1930, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Arthur O. and Edna Gossett Fowler. Mr. Fowler was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a former partner with Gossett Fowler Motor Company, a sales representative for Southland Life Insurance Company, former paper carrier for the Spartanburg Herald Journal, and member of Green Street Baptist Church. He loved gardening, fishing, and many outdoor activities. Surviving is his beloved wife, Frances Proffitt Fowler; children, John A. Fowler and wife Jeannie of Taylors, J. Scott Fowler of Spartanburg, and Jo Sharon F. Robinson and husband James D. Robinson Jr. of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Jason Robinson, Jessica Johnson and husband Andrew, and Ryan Fowler. He was predeceased by a brother, Jerry Fowler. Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 PM Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Larry Fleming. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
