Joseph Caggiano

Joseph "Joey" Patrick Caggiano, 53, of Gaffney, SC, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born October 3, 1963, in Gaffney, he was the son of the late Vincent George Caggiano, Jr. and Sara Katherine "Sadie" Collins Caggiano. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his oldest brother, Vincent G. Caggiano III. Joey will be remembered fondly for his kind heart and generous spirit by all who knew him. Joey was especially loved by all of his cousins, nieces, and nephews and his whole family. He never met a stranger and anyone who spent any time with him quickly became his friend. Joey was active in various waterfowl organizations including Ducks Unlimited and SC Waterfowl Association, as well as various wildlife organizations. He was a former Commissioner with the Cherokee County Soil and Water Conservation District, a member of the Hendersonville Elks Lodge, and a lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gaffney. Survivors include his siblings and their families: Franklin B. and Sharon Caggiano of Columbia, SC, Katie, Franklin, Annie, and Ashley; Dr. Anthony V. and Janice Caggiano of Gainesville, FL, Kelly and Anthony; Linda A. Caggiano of Rock Hill, SC, Bonnie Kate Warren, Will Reeves; Alfred A. And Dorothy Caggiano of Granger, IN, Jennifer Michie, Emily Johnson; Christopher J. and Lisa Caggiano of Spartanburg, SC, Christopher, Maryanna, Nicholas, and Lily; and Sarah C. and Carlo Tajana of Gaffney, SC, Leila, Annabella and Sophia; his oldest nephew, Vincent G. IV and Tina Caggiano of Chatsworth, GA, and a number of great nieces and nephews. The Rosary Prayer Service will be recited at 5:30 PM Sunday, September 3, 2017, with visitation following from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, September 4, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, by The Rev. Michael McCafferty. Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens, 986 Chesnee Hwy, Gaffney, SC 29341. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund, 205 Sams Street, Gaffney, SC 29340. The family is at the home of his brother, Chris Caggiano of Spartanburg.
