Jonathan Trail

Jonathan Anthony "Tony" Trail, 43, of Chesnee, SC, died Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born February 20, 1970, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of Virgil Sanford Trail, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC, and Sarah Jane West Trail of Moore, SC. Tony was a graduate of the University of South Carolina. He was formerly employed as an administrator with the SC Dept. of Education and the University of South Carolina Upstate. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Mary Anne Brock Trail; children, Marina Elizabeth Trail of Chesnee, SC, and Robert Alexander Frederick of Spartanburg, SC; and aunts, Verle Wall of Inman, SC, Vera Ann Swofford (James) and Grace Boiter (Jodie), all of Boiling Springs, SC. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 24, 2013, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by Mr. Jodie Boiter. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303; Alumni & Development Records, Duke University c/o Medical Research Fund, Box 90581, Durham, NC 27708-0581.
