Jonathan Alan Coggins, 37, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, March 25, 2022 at his home. Born December 24, 1984 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of James “Jimmy” Caldwell Coggins (Lisa Crist) of Inman, SC and Karen B. Smith (Jan) of Spartanburg, SC.
Jonathan earned his associate degree from NASCAR Technical Institute and was a co-owner of Coggins Flowers and Gifts.
He loved sports, NASCAR, and followed Jeremy Clements. He was a huge Clemson University and Atlanta Braves fan. Jonathan loved nature and animals. His favorite places to hike was the Appalachian Trail and the American Discovery Trails. Cooking was another love and loved to try new and different types of foods. Tinkering with different gadgets, taking them apart and reassembling them. He attended NewSpring Church in Spartanburg.
Along with his parents, he is survived by a brother, Brad Coggins (Summer) of Spartanburg, SC, his sister, Lori Osment (Brad) of Roebuck, SC, his nieces, Karlee Blauert, Savannah Osment, and Gracie Coggins, stepsisters, Heather McCravey (Jerritt) and Mary Anna Petty (Jeff), stepbrother, Blair Smith (Jamie). He was predeceased by his grandparents, Walter and Helen Coggins, Robert L. and Polly Blackwell, and his stepmother, Ginger C. Coggins.
Visitation will be 2:30 – 3:30 pm Friday, April 1, 2022 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A Funeral service will be at 4:00 pm, at the chapel, conducted by The Rev. Andrew Wolfe. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
