Johnny Ivey

February 24, 1936 — January 17, 2022

Johnny “John” Melvin Ivey, 85, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, at his home.  Born February 24, 1936, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Pearl Cooksey Ivey.

Mr. Ivey was Plant Manager at CNA Knitting Plant and enjoyed gardening and doing yard work.

Survivors are two sons, Kenneth Ivey (Debra) of Spartanburg and Danny Ivey (LaHoya) of Chesnee; a daughter Deana Bridges (Chris) of Chesnee.  His lifelong best friend, Geraldine Ivey Provinge of Gaffney.  Grandchildren Angel Ivey, Kenneth Ivey II (Angie), Chris Ivey (Angie), Danielle Horton, Alicia Blanton, John Phillip Ivey II, Madison Bridges (Katie), and Forrest Bridges.  Sixteen great grandchildren and seven great, great grandchildren.   He was predeceased by a son, John Phillip Ivey, a granddaughter, Christy Lynn Shields, and a great, great grandson, Caleb Ivey.

A private service will be held by the family.
