John Lester Wolfe

John Lester Wolfe, age 79, passed away on October 21, 2023, in Cowpens, South Carolina. He was born on April 13, 1944, in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late, Roscoe James Wolfe and Arla Philena Miller Wolfe.

John loved riding motorcycles in his younger days, he enjoyed gardening and also had a deep love for hunting and fishing every chance he could find. He will be remembered for his slap stick sense of humor and although he was "tough as nails", John always had a soft heart for his wife and daughters. He was a man who always stayed busy working on anything, even during the holidays, John would dress up as Santa Claus to hand out Hershey chocolate bars to everyone.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Karola Harley Wolfe of Cowpens, SC; his children who meant the world to him: Jamie Wolfe of Gaffney, SC; Jeff Wolfe of TX; Melody Wolfe of Pacolet, SC; Kara Wolfe of Spartanburg, SC; and Audrey Wolfe of Spartanburg, SC; his cherished grandchildren: Kandy Zuniga, Matthew Guthrie, Andrew Guthrie, Minerva Wolfe, and numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren who held a special place in his heart.

John also leaves behind his siblings Roscoe Wolfe Jr. of Orlando, FL; Jane Hatchette of Chattanooga, TN; Jennifer Collins (Robert) of Salisbury, NC; and Susan Ranke of Gaffney, SC.

John is predeceased by his wife, Bida Wolfe; daughter, Kandy Wolfe, his parents and his brother, Frank Wolfe.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Salem United Methodist Church, 5425 N. Main St, Cowpens, SC 29330.  The Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 PM at the church, to be conducted by The Rev. Wayne Major, Sr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 160, Cowpens, SC 29330.

John was a remarkable man who touched the lives of all who knew him.
