John Tillotson

John Ed Tillotson, 65, of 63 Tillotson Road, died Saturday, July 11, 2009, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born February 20, 1944, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late William Earl and Catherine Pruitt Tillotson and widower of Mary Walter Tillotson. He was retired as Personnel Trainer with BE&K Construction and was a Veteran, having served two tours with the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Hooper and husband Tom of Martinez, GA; a stepdaughter, Kim Kearns and husband Jim of Atlanta, GA; a stepson, Virgil Fairey and wife Stacey of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Alyssa, Sierra, Kayla, Samantha, Matthew, and Sarah; a sister, Earline Page of Spartanburg; a brother, Donald Lee Tillotson of Spartanburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers, three sisters, and a son. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
