John Steadings

John Harry Steadings, 75, of Pauline, SC, died Monday, November 14, 2016, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born September 29, 1941, in Pauline, SC, he was the son of the late George Washington Steadings and Clevia Mae Cooke Steadings. A U. S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Steadings retired from Hoechst-Celanese Corporation. He was a lifetime member of Fairforest Masonic Lodge #393, the Scottish Rite, and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Dianne Eubanks Steadings; daughters, Holly Cecil and Leah Lowe; son, Joshua Steadings; sons-in-law, Cooper Cecil and Joe Lowe; and daughter-in-law, Autumn Steadings; brother, Alton Walter Steadings; sisters, Betty Steadings Lynch and Mary Steadings Lovelace; grandchildren, Christian Steadings Lowe, Robert Calum Cecil, Holly Katherine "Katie" Cecil, John Landon Lowe, Ainsley Caroline Steadings, and Camryn Brice Steadings. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Jon-Shannon Steadings. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, November 18, 2016, at Fairforest Baptist Church, 115 Church Street, Fairforest, SC 29336, by the Rev. Monty King and the Rev. Brent Dowis. Burial will be in the church cemetery with visitation following at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McCarthy-Teszler School, 175 Burdette Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
