John Sellers Iii

John Powell Sellers, III 82, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at his residence. Born April 28, 1940 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Nell Wheatley and John Powell Sellers, II.

Mr. Sellers was the co-owner, along with his wife, Sandy of Sellers Seafood since 1969 and a member of Parkway Free Will Baptist Church. John was an avid fisherman and loved to restore antique cars.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Sandra McGraw Sellers of the home; sons, John Powell Sellers, IV (Traci Brock) of Inman, SC and Richard Scott Sellers of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, Deeanna Sellers of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Jennifer Sellers, J.R. Sellers, Rachel Sellers, and Ty Sellers; great grandchildren, Layne Sellers, Ellie Sellers and Aiden Sellers; brothers, William “Bill” Sellers, Jay Sellers, Sam Sellers and Michael Sellers. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Scott Sellers, three brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel, conducted by The Rev. Mitchell Edge. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
