John Calvin Sellars, 86, of Cowpens, SC, died Monday, January 6, 2014, at Rosecrest Retirement Community-Inman. Born March 2, 1927, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Howard and Faye Sue Spencer Sellars. A U. S. Marine veteran of World War II, Mr. Sellars was the owner/operator of Sellars' Electric and Hardware, and a member of Arcadia First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Tommie Hammett Sellars; children, John L. Sellars (Margaret), Bobby Carl Sellars (Ellen), Roger Sellars (Bridget), and Diane Liebenrood (Charles); nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Shirly Reynolds; and brother, Norman Sellars. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Caroline Edna Blanton Sellars. Visitation will be 12:00-1:30 PM Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Joey Burnett. Burial with military rites by the SC State Guard Honors Team will follow in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens, 175 Cemetery St., Cowpens, SC 29330.
