John Robertson

John Calvin Robertson, 92, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, February 26, 2016. Born March 4, 1923, he was the son of the late John Calvin and Nannie Childress Robertson. He was the widower of the late Wilma Prince Robertson. Mr. Robertson was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in WWII. He was retired from Draper Corp. after 32 years of service. John was an avid NASCAR fan, who loved the outdoors and nature. Survivors include a son, Steve Robertson (Theresa) of Louisville, TN; a daughter, Debra Shaffer of Spartanburg, SC; sister-in-law, Peggy Harris of Spartanburg, SC; a special cousin, Margaret West of Lyman, SC; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Lowell Robertson, sister, Evelyn Edwards, and a son-in-law, Michael Shaffer. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Monday, February 29, 2016 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Tim Hackett. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
