John "Jack" Howard Neale, 88, of Spartanburg, SC and formerly of Elkins and Charleston, WV, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at RoseCrest Community Care-Inman, SC. Born December 2, 1929, in Elkins, WV, he was the son of George Hughes Neale and Sarah Ellifrits Neale. He was the husband of Jessie Anderson Neale who preceded him in death on May 24, 2017. Jack graduated from West Virginia University School of Pharmacy and served in the U. S. Army. Following the death of his father, he returned to Elkins, WV to run the family business, "Neale's" Drug Store. After running the family business for many years, he was employed with the State of West Virginia as a Nursing Home Inspector and as a pharmacist at several clinics and hospitals in the Charleston West Virginia area, retiring from Montgomery General Hospital. Survivors include his children, John Hughes Neale (Valerie), Tracy Anderson (Neil), all of Moore, SC, whose mother was Nancy Johnson Neale. Deborah St. Jean (Marc) of Delaware, and Elizabeth Kamazyh of Maryland, whose mother was the former Elsie Folks; grandchildren, John Hughes Neale II, Justin Neale, Dalton, Skyler, Spencer, and Addison Anderson, John and James Oliver; great-grandchildren, Gracelynn Neale, Peyton and Connor Neale; and a special friend and former wife, Peggy Neale. In addition to his parents and wife Jessie, he was predeceased by his sisters, Betty, Eleanor, and Winnifred. A graveside service for Jack and Jessie will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 11, 2018, in Maplewood Cemetery, 301 Mapleview Dr., Elkins, WV 26241, by Pastor Dewaine Corley.
