John Mcneely

John Michael McNeely, 65, of Glenn Springs, SC, died Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at Brookdale Skylyn. Born April 10, 1951, in Charleston, SC, he was the son of the late John William McNeely Jr. and Cecelia Annette Hutto Daub and husband of the late Roxanne Thornton McNeely. A U. S. Army Reserves veteran, Mr. McNeely was a 1973 Citadel graduate and a member of the Citadel Alumni Association. He was a retired purchasing manager with Milliken & Company with over 30 years of service, a former owner of Hillcrest Sports Club, and a retired bus driver with Spartanburg County School District 6. He loved scuba diving, golfing, traveling, was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and a member of Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his daughters, Sarah McNeely Diaz and Anna Smith, both of Spartanburg, SC, and Hope Warren (Phillip) of Pauline, SC; five grandchildren, Madison Diaz, Zach, Kyle and Kaylee Warren, and Klayten Davis; sister, Leah McNeely Tudor of Columbia, SC; and "Ryder", his special Jack Russell buddy. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Brian Hutto McNeely. The family will receive friends 2:30-3:30 PM Friday, July 29, 2016, at Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church, 6001 Hwy 215, Pauline, SC 29374. A graveside service will follow in the church cemetery with the Rev. Dr. B. E. Pettit officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church, PO Box 279, Pauline, SC 29374. The family is at their respective homes.
