John Link, Jr.

John Wesley Link, Jr., 69, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at his home. Born September 5, 1943, in Decatur, GA, he was the son of John Wesley Link, Sr. of Spartanburg, SC, and the late Guynema Hill Link. A U. S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Link served on the carrier USS Independence. He retired from Bellsouth after 30 years of service and was a graduate of Cecil's Business College. He was a member of First Baptist Church and former member at Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church for many years where he served as a Deacon and Elder. An avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman with his grandchildren, he loved his Lord and his family. He was also a former member of the "Shop" Motorcycle Club. In addition to his father, he is survived by his beloved wife, Lettie Brown Link; daughters, Kristina Keith and husband Kim of Campobello, SC, and Tamara Blocker and husband Edward of Beaufort, SC; grandchildren, Christopher, Lillian, and Graham Keith, and Riley, Caroline, and Sarah Blocker; brothers, Steven Link and wife Nancy of Spartanburg, SC, and Michael Link and wife Sandra of Chesnee, SC. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Sal Barone and the Rev. Bill Adams. Burial military rites, and with Taps played by his son-in-law, Kim Keith, will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675; or Mobile Meals Service, PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304. The family is at their respective homes.
