John Fisher

John "Ed" Fisher, 79, of Pacolet, SC, died Friday, August 15, 2014 at Spartanburg Hospital of Restorative Care. Born January 6, 1935 in Cherokee County, he was the son of the late Robert Austin Fisher and Belle Peeler Fisher. A veteran of the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Fisher was a retired truck driver for 40 years. In addition to his late wife, Betty Parker Fisher, survivors include a daughter, Donna Fisher (Jodie) Gay; two sons, Rick Fisher (Christie) and George E. Fisher, all of Pacolet; five granddaughters, Tabitha Engle, Leslie F. Baty, Erin Fisher, Courtney Gay, and Brittney Fisher; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 2:00-3:45 PM Monday, August 18, 2014 at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Dr., Pacolet, SC 29372. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM following visitation, conducted by the Rev. Bob Leverette. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens with Military Rites. The family is at the home of Leslie Baty, 850 Whitestone Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29302.
