John Cranford, Sr.

John W. Cranford, Sr., 72, of Spartanburg, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born January 15, 1938 in Clinton, SC, he was the son of the late Thomas Buford and Hazel Carrie Strickland Cranford. He retired from Flowers Bakery, was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, a member of Glendale Masonic Lodge # 271 AFM, and an avid model builder. Mr. Cranford served in the South Carolina Army National Guard and the Army Reserve. Survivors include his wife, Mercy R. Cranford; four children, John W. Cranford, Jr., Michelle C. Brown, Gina C. Huntley, and William F. Cranford; grandchildren, Stephen and Seth Brown and Hannah Cranford. Visitation will be 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday, July 9, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by Father Timothy Gahan. Burial with military rites by the SC State Guard Honors Team will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home.
