John Russell "Russ" Capps, 28, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, June 14, 2009. Born March 27, 1981, in Pensacola, FL, he was the son of W. P. "Pete" Capps, Jr. of Milton, FL, and Juanita "Nita" Carden DuRocher of Spartanburg. He attended Broome High School and Spartanburg Community College and was a computer technical writer with Du All Controls. Surviving in addition to his parents is a sister, Shea Capps of Rock Hill; a brother, Wade Capps of Milton, FL; step-father, David DuRocher of Spartanburg; step-mother, Judy Capps of Milton, FL; paternal grandmother, Betty Capps of Brewton, AL; maternal grandmother, Lanace Carnley of Century, FL; step-maternal grandparents, Ruth and Wayne DuRocher of Free Soil, MI; step-paternal grandparents, Curtis and Alestine Lisenby of Wallace, AL; step-sister, Brandy Hampton of Michigan City, IN; step-brother, David DuRocher, II of Portage, IN; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Russell Carden and W. P. Capps, Sr. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel conducted by the Rev. Joey Wampler. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
