John Caldwell

John Vernon Caldwell, 77, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, April 30, 2018, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born December 15, 1940, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late John Dean Caldwell and Lena Mae Holland Caldwell. A U. S. Air Force veteran and retiree of GE, Mr. Caldwell was a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg, a Mason, and Shriner. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Sue Caldwell; children, Kim Blackwell (Tony) and Johnny Caldwell (Carmen); grandchildren, Tony, Alicia, Katelin, Amanda, Samantha, Justin, Katlyn, Michael, Elizabeth, and Thomas; great-grandchildren, Mia, Chastin, Channing, Piper, Hailey, Alaina, and Jaylen; sisters, Barbara Ann, Joan, and Alisa; and brother, Kenneth Caldwell. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Clayton Caldwell. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, May 4, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by The Rev. Eddie Willis. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
